Pump It #65

Much technical examination is required while looking for an effective and efficient pump to perform the cooling purpose of the motor which can reach extreme temperatures during a run. Four pumps with various specifications were selected to be tested. While theoretical calculations might offer good information on the theoretical capability of a pump’s performance, there is nothing like getting down and dirty to manually test the actual ability of a pump to perform to the desired specification. For this exercise, Mark and Kevin fashioned pipework from a 44 gallon drum, to simulate the pipe diameter and distance over the car, while a highly technical broom holding the pipe in the air simulated head pressure. Reg’s technical boot provided pressure to prevent the pipework from reacting to the high pressure resulting in a shower for the unwary.
