2024 But, Bugger, Sadly # 179

BUT BUGGER / SADLY CMR Bolivia dream will not happen in 2024. This decision is not taken lightly. Some of the main  reasons behind this Sad enforced decision R listed Below.

(  )  Final testing of Wairua 2 proving concept on hub Dyno while going very well has exposed flaws of drive from engine to gearbox.

(  )  Drive to the front of the gearbox is damaged. Chris Weismann / Traction Products email is. Do not just replace broken parts as they will break again. Pull apart. May well have to go thru redesign of the Dog Clutch system or what ever is broken. Which may B necessary will take time.

(  )  Trying to create Plan ( A ) & ( B ) for possible Tyre issues that become evident during tyre spinning to evaluate tyre growth.

       I have just had a very productive ph call with Goodyear Engineers. An improved design to chase higher speeds may B possible. But will take time. Need to sell marketing Plan to Goodyear.

(  )  Wheel Spinner is broken & is being repaired into Plan ( C ) Now

(  )  Palmerston Nth Team of Dean & Leon R pulling Gearbox out now. The possible redesign of drive parts to gearbox can then happen.

(  ) The talk of delaying the boat  a week creates unrealistic time frame of trouble at the other end

(  ) Also delaying the event which has already been pushed back has its risks.    

(  ) As expected there R typically many other minor issues that CMR  can  wing it with & use  KIWI CAN DO to fix

Note Fact —-This needs 2 B said

(  )  CMR Achillies heel has always been delays with getting wiring & electronic issues sorted

(  )  Sadly after 2 ½ years of many delays & trying various options

(  )  Eventually Plan ( F ) wiring & configuring has been sorted internally. Thanks to Brilliant  effort of, Colin , Mark ( C G ), Don, Piers, Malcom, Bruce,  Dave ( DTECH ) & Using  Brian ( Whiskas ) Property. Wairua 2 now runs with everything electronic working & Configured  correctly as originally designed

       But because of the time taken to get Electronics sorted has reduced available time of the 6 months as originally planned to complete the final power runs to prove durability concept of running in the car.

GOOD BAD & UGLY

GOOD —- CMR Now after Dynoing have confidence that  Wairua 2 can chase the dreams as originally envisaged.

There may B a pathway to obtaining Tyres 2 chase 550 Mph with a better safety Margin

BAD —– As the supposed leader. I am disappointed that even with the best of brain storming Plan’s   A / B / C / D / E  Etc for WIRING.  We were not able to get  the wiring done earlier which would allowed more time to test many systems as we planned 2 do. A book could B written on the dragged out wiring Drama / Petty Politics / High’s / Low’s !!!!!!                                                                                                                                                                           UGLY —- It is not logically practical for CMR  to go to Bolivia 2024 with unresolved  spinning up of tyres & other issues 2 B sorted.

(  ) Finances ??????

(  ) Now have more Time proving concept on Hub Dyno which CMR can eventually now do

(  ) Possible Tyre Limitations may now B hopefully addressed

(  ) Geriatric  Age !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Monumental kick in the guts will add to the rich Tapestry of hurdles climbed when KIWI CAN DO Succeeds hopefully in 2025.
